Dr. Samuel Mitchell is a volcanologist, marine scientist, and geoscience communicator based in the UK. With over a decade of experience as both as an academic researcher and independent science communicator, he spends his time educating a wide range of audiences about the earth and ocean sciences through public events and various media platforms, including socials and podcasting. His field research and work as a polar guide has taken him to the Galapagos, Japan, Greece, New Zealand, Hawai'i, Patagonia, Antarctica, and even to the seafloor in search of answers about our dynamic planet. His primary goal is to encourage a sense of wonder, awe, and respect for our natural world for the general public, and appreciation for how tied our dynamic planet is to daily society.
Brunton is excited to have Sam on board as a brand ambassador because of his passion for geoscience outreach, his international audiences, and his ability to take cool pictures of Brunton compasses in amazing places!
