Jacks Genega: Wildcard Wilderness Survival

Jacks Genega: Wildcard Wilderness Survival

At Brunton, we believe confidence in the outdoors begins with knowledge, preparation, and trusted tools. That's why we're excited to welcome Jacks Genega to the Brunton Ambassador Team.

Jacks is a wilderness survival instructor, land navigation educator, and outdoor adventurer who has dedicated her career to helping people build confidence through practical skills. While she is especially known for empowering women in the outdoors, her courses and instruction are open to anyone seeking greater self-reliance and competence in the field.

After leaving a career as a film editor, Jacks pursued a life centered on wilderness education. Solo expeditions through Iceland's remote wilderness, the Alps, Germany's Black Forest, the Scottish Highlands, and Sweden's Arctic Laplands taught her firsthand that outdoor skills are about far more than surviving in the backcountry. They build confidence, resilience, and self-trust.

Jacks has trained with some of the most respected names in the survival industry, including Woodland Ways, The Pathfinder School, and Boulder Outdoor Survival School. She previously instructed alongside fellow Brunton Ambassador Dave Canterbury and currently teaches at The Survival University and the Foxfire Museum. Her instruction blends wilderness survival, land navigation, situational awareness, and personal resilience, helping students move from uncertainty to confidence.

You will also see Jacks this season as a contestant on the History Channel's Alone. Season 13 premieres June 17, 2026.

We are proud to support Jacks as she continues to educate, inspire, and equip others for adventure.
