Brunton products are designed to last a lifetime, but sometimes slight repairs or recalibrations are needed.  Or maybe you've dropped your Brunton down a cliff or blasted it out of a mine hole, and it needs some more serious attention to get it back to working order.

Please note that not all repairs are possible. Each situation will differ depending on product type and age, available parts, and the type and extent of damage.

Brunton sells repair kits and various replacement parts. We encourage you to keep the correct repair parts on hand, especially if repairs are needed during a field session. But if your product needs more help than you are capable of doing comfortably, our team is here to help! (See below for more information about Self-Repair with our Repair Kits).

For Repairs at our Riverton, WY Facility

At our Wyoming headquarters, we continue the long tradition of repairing and recalibrating our professional products. These include Transits (Axis, Geo, Standard, ComPro, and Tactical), OmniSights/Slopes, and Vintage Compasses (Teton Topo and DW Brunton Pocket Compasses). Older models of transits that have been phased out may not be repairable, as they use different parts and pieces.

Only BRUNTON manufactured products (no knockoffs!) are eligible.

To initiate a product repair or transit recalibration, fill out the Brunton Repair Request Form linked below. More details, including prices, are at the top of that form.

International Repairs

In 2025, Brunton is ramping up a program that will allow select distributors around the world to become Certified Brunton Repair & Rebalance Centers. This will allow our vast network of international users to have more regional service, saving time, shipping costs, and energy associated with having to previously send all repairs back to our Wyoming, USA headquarters.

We will have a growing list of these Certified Brunton Repair & Rebalance Centers here soon!

UNTIL YOU SEE A REGIONAL DISTRIBUTOR LISTED THAT IS CLOSE TO YOU, PLEASE CONTINUE CONTACTING BRUNTON DIRECTLY FOR REPAIRS.

Self Repairs

Brunton sells a variety of repair kits and replacement parts. These can be found within our Accessories product menu.

For our transits/geological compasses, we highly recommend having on hand the repair kit specific to your transit model, especially if repairs are needed during a field session.

We also sell a University Repair Kit equipped with the most commonly broken or missing parts of all of our transit models. These are a must-have for universities, geological surveys, or any other group that wants to maintain their own transit fleets. Contact us at sales@brunton.com if you are interested in this kit.

And new in 2025, we now sell several replacement vials for our Recreational Compasses. If a bubble larger than a pencil eraser has formed in your liquid-filled compass vial, and your product is beyond its 1-year warranty period, you can purchase a replacement vial and repair your compass yourself!

DO-IT-YOURSELF REPAIRS WILL FORFEIT YOUR PRODUCT WARRANTY! WE RECOMMEND THIS ONLY FOR PRODUCTS THAT HAVE EXCEEDED OUR 1-YEAR WARRANTY.

Warranty

Brunton has a 1-year limited warranty on all of our products that covers manufacturing defects only. Wear and tear due to use, damage from accident or negligence, or evidence of tampering/attempted self repair are NOT covered under warranty.

Product registration is required before any warranty repairs or returns can be initiated.
