Brunton warrants your manufactured product to remain free of defects during a 1-year warranty period starting at the date of purchase. Brunton's products are intended to be used in harsh outdoor environments. As such, the Brunton Limited Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damage due to misuse or rough handling or chemical exposure, or purposeful alternation of the product.
This Warranty policy does not apply to discontinued items or used items purchased from other platforms. Some examples of non-coverage include binoculars, portable power, used products from eBay, second-hand sales, garage sales, thrift stores, or other consumer-driven marketplaces.
Brunton transits manufactured in 2022 or later are equipped with a tamper-resistant method of opening the compass body for simple repairs or rebalances. This is intended for distributors, retailers, and universities – not end users. The warranty is voided if there is evidence of tampering or removal of the retaining ring and/or cover glass by the end user.
Warranty is voided with any evidence of attempted self repair.
Product Registration - Required
Starting in 2025, any customer requesting our 1-year limited warranty coverage must show proof of product registration in our database. This form should be completed upon purchase of any Brunton product if you wish to have it covered under warranty. If several products were purchased under one order, they can each be registered using this single form.
Obtaining Access to Warranty
Should a defect occur in your Brunton branded product which is not due to negligence or by fault or accident, and if the product qualifies for the Brunton Limited Warranty, we shall, at our option, either repair or replace it without charge, and will pay the cost of return shipment to you.
If a repair is warranted, you must pay for cost of shipment to Brunton; we will cover shipment costs of product back to you.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
BRUNTON SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. THERE ARE NO OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES BEYOND THE BRUNTON LIMITED WARRANTY UNLESS MANDATORY LAW PROVIDES OTHERWISE. THESE WARRANTY TERMS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.
